Abstract

Elementary school is the level of basic education required by students for further education.  Elementary schools aim for each student to be able to develop his cognitive, psychomotor, and motor aspects.  Counting is a cognitive aspect that students must have.  In addition to writing and reading, students also have arithmetic learning assignments.  Students' numeracy skills can be developed by the teacher carrying out the learning process through play activities.  By playing, children's learning interest can be increased.  Snakes and Ladders is a game that has been modified to become an educative learning medium.  The purpose of making snakes and ladders learning media is to develop the numeracy skills of class III students of SD Inpres Bontobila to be developed.  In this study, 2 methods were used, namely the descriptive method and the qualitative approach.  Based on the use of snakes and ladders learning media in learning, it can be concluded that: 1) Students' numeracy skills can be improved through snakes and ladders media, 2) Snakes and ladders media has a quality that is suitable for use in learning, 3) Media can support improving student learning outcomes 4) Media is able to increase students' enthusiasm for learning because learning does not make students bored
