Abstract

This study aims to identify the roles of teachers, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors, in developing the “7 Habits of Indonesian Children” among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 46 Banda Aceh. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects consisted of the principal, classroom teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that teachers play an important role in fostering students’ positive habits through routine activities, role modeling, motivation, and the integration of character values into the learning process. The seven habits include waking up early, engaging in worship, exercising regularly, eating healthy and nutritious food, developing a strong interest in learning, socializing, and going to bed early. Supporting factors include collaboration between the school and parents, teacher support, and adequate facilities. Inhibiting factors include excessive use of gadgets, differences in habits at home, and limited instructional time. This study concludes that developing the “7 Habits of Indonesian Children” requires active teacher involvement and strong collaboration between schools and families to ensure effective and sustainable implementation.
