Abstract

The quality of basic education is largely determined by a conducive learning environment and optimal student support. This study aims to analyze the influence of student attendance through the Teaching Assistance program on improving the character and learning atmosphere at the UPTD SPF Inpres Bung. Using a qualitative approach, this study examined the activities of five students mentoring 150 students over one semester. Data were obtained through direct classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and analysis of student reflection notes. The primary focus of this study was the role of students in assisting teachers in delivering learning materials and providing individual guidance to students experiencing learning difficulties. The results showed that student attendance created a more interactive and student-centered classroom environment. There was a significant increase in student participation and discipline, contributing to the achievement of overall student development standards. In addition to assisting teachers, this program successfully strengthened the collaborative relationship between universities and elementary schools in an effort to improve the quality of education.
