Abstract

This study explores the learning models of Social Studies (IPS) applied in elementary schools within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. The main focus is to understand how approaches such as Project-Based Learning (PjBL), differentiated instruction, and the integration of IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) support the development of students’ competencies and the use of local culture. As an illustration, an online article from Kompasiana is used as a reference to examine classroom practices and the language aspects employed. The findings indicate that the learning models in the Merdeka Curriculum have great potential to improve the quality of Social Studies education, although their implementation still faces challenges such as limited time, authentic assessment, and school support. In addition, the language analysis revealed inconsistencies in spelling and terminology, highlighting the importance of accurate scientific communication.
