This study aims to analyze the types of errors made by fourth grade elementary school students in solving mathematical story problems and to identify the factors that cause these errors. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects of fourth grade elementary school students at SDN Sayanng. Data were obtained through written tests and interviews with teachers and students. The results of the study indicate that the types of errors that most often occur include errors in understanding the problem, errors in transforming information into mathematical form, and errors in the calculation process. The main causes of errors are limitations in understanding the language of the problem and the lack of ability to transform information in story problems. These findings can be used as a reference to improve mathematics teaching methods, especially in story problems.
